A Camera is Born

Watch this video to see how a limited Leica M9-P »Edition Hermès« – Série Limitée Jean-Louis Dumas is produced. This limited edition model was introduced on May 10, 2012 in Berlin at the “LEICA – DAS WESENTLICHE” to commemorate the relationship between Jean-Louis Dumas, (the former president of the luxury brand Hermès, who died in May 2010) and Leica Camera AG. We get a three and a half minute glimpse at the work that goes into producing a camera of this caliber (and the satchel that comes with it). A considerable amount of the labor is accomplished by hand, conveying care, precision and attention to detail. At the end of the video we get a look at the final product, the camera and all its accessories, most likely, with a new appreciation.
